This is Apache. He's a handsome 16hh painted thoroughbred with a love for speed and anything he can get his cute fuzzy lips on :) We first met 3 months ago when I told my trainer that I was interested in leasing, and it's been an amazing ride (pun intended!) ever since. In that short amount of time I've learned so much about horsemanship and what it means to be a balanced and responsible rider, and I feel so lucky to be able to call this guy my partner in crime.

My love for horses started when a close family friend placed me on top of her horse when I was two, and I've been riding every chance I get since. I was one of those little girls who was obsessed with horses, and 28 years later I can truly say that not all girls grow out of the pony phase! Leasing and developing a close relationship with a single horse is something I've always dreamed of, but I don't think I was really ready to take on such a responsibility until now, and my patience has totally paid off. I'm very proud of our progress so far and can't wait to see how far we can go together. You'll definitely be seeing more of this guy in future posts!
